Amazing prize just “landed”…

Tight ‘n Bright just landed a major prize donation from WestJet Vacations and that means you’ll be landing in Las Vegas! WestJet Vacations has donated return airfare from Calgary (YYC) to Las Vegas (LAS) plus 3 nights hotel accommodations and all taxes, surcharges and fees to be raffled off at Tight ‘n Bright on March 21. Estimated prize value is $1500 for this package. The fine details are being worked out as I write this with regards to where you’ll be staying, but with every major hotel along the strip in their portfolio, you can be sure you will have a ton of fun…and it won’t break the bank! So get ready to pack your bags for Vegas with WestJet Vacations, and take off eh!

No line where we are!

Can you believe it’s December already? Only 25 days until the largest retail day of the year…yes I’m talking about Boxing Day. Most retailers actually have Boxing Week sales to help spread the wealth over the week instead of making you wait in line to get in their store only to find it completely picked over. Speaking of standing in lines, I just wanted to let you know the current line up and a more comprehensive rundown of what’s been going on. While it may seem I’ve been vacationing all over, I’ve still been hard at work. To date we have over $40,000 worth of promotional support thanks to Energy 101.5 FM, NewAd Media and our print partner—Process Color. It’s crazy to think that compared to what is spent in retail advertising every day, this is a drop in the bucket!

Now, for prize partners…that’s what everyone is no doubt interested in. Well, let’s just say that we have an awesome prize pack so far and are working on two or three more. Currently we’re at about $4000 worth of prizing and by the end of this week hope to have it over $20,000. The goal was to have all partners in place by today, but life has happened and things get pushed a little bit…but we’re still working on it. We’ll be selling raffle tickets online as well as event tickets and will let you know once they’re available for purchase. We’re still working out logistics on being able to actually enter into the raffle online for those who aren’t able to attend.

As I mentioned previously about standing in lines, keep in mind that when you purchase your ticket in the upcoming weeks for Tight ‘n Bright, you will receive no line & no cover at The Whiskey NightClub! Of course, it does depend on when you arrive. Not only no cover, but also your first drink is covered. A value of at least $12.50 and we’re only charging you $10!! According to my math, it really does pay to party!!

“Today’s Best Music” knows where the party is at!

Tight ‘n Bright 2009 just received another major boost in publicity and promotion with Energy 101.5 agreeing to be the exclusive radio partner. “It makes sense since we’re already there,” an Energy source said in a phone call.

In all honesty, we at Tight ‘n Bright completely agree it makes sense and we’re extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with Energy 101.5. There’s no doubt this will help us blow our $20,000 target out of the water. Keep in mind that 100% of the proceeds go to the Alberta Cancer Foundation and stay right here in Calgary for the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. So begin showing your support early and tune your radio to Energy 101.5 for Today’s Best Music!

NewAd offers up support

“Wow” is all we can say. We’ve received notice from NewAd Media that they will assist us in promoting Tight ‘n Bright 2009. This means that you should expect to see us popping up around town in January prior to the event. In addition it definitely adds value for our prize donors getting their name and logo in front of a captive audience. Our hope is that our new partnership with NewAd Media is that we’ll be able to help secure more prizes to raffle off and easily exceed our target of $20,000 for Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. Check back for more sponsors & donors as we make them available.

Slipoffs sign on!

Slipoffs Custom Designed ShoesIt is great to see support from local businesses beginning to come in. Today, Slipoffs – Custom Designed Shoes has donated a pair of custom designed shoes to the raffle. Estimated at $180 you can rest assured that these kickers are one of a kind. These shoes have appeared on The Ellen Show, Project Runway Canada and featured in the Calgary Herald and on Breakfast Television.

It’s very exciting for us to see our partners beginning to be announced. Stay tuned for more in the upcoming days. In the meantime, check out slipoffs.com for your own custom pair.

It’s go time!

Well December 1 is quickly approaching and that’s when I’d like to have all of our media partners, sponsors and prize donors determined. It’s been quite a ride so far and the intensity will only pick up this week I’m sure. I’m still looking to gain contact with Energy 101.5, Metro (free daily), 24 (free daily), Fast Forward Weekly (free weekly), Calgary Sun, Calgary Herald, Avenue Magazine and any others that come to mind this week. I’ve made contact with the above, at least through email, but now it’s time to follow up.

I’m also planning to secure a vacation package, restaurant deal(s), and a vehicle to raffle off this week. We’ve got ongoing communications with those providers. We’re also hopefully making some contact with a few shopping centres to offer up a shopping spree to raffle off. The ideas are endless and we know that they’re out there…so feel free to send us any of your contacts. Simply send an email to info@tightnbright.com with contact information and we’ll be more then happy to make the call.

Stay tuned to the site as we’ll be revealing a lot of exciting things over the next few days.

Seeking dollars

Over the past couple of days I’ve been doing some thinking about Tight ‘n Bright and how we can make it even more of a success and exceed our goal of $20,000. One that came to mind was getting an actual sponsor, someone to fork over some cash for prominent co-op advertising with the event. A sponsorship donation of $10-20,000 would allow us to purchase media space and through partnering with various media partners allow for even more exposure for our donors, sponsor, the event, and of course the Alberta Cancer Foundation. So with that, I’m putting out an official request for sponsorship right now. If you know someone, or maybe are someone, that would be interested please contact us today. We’re very excited about Tight ‘n Bright and are busy wrapping up the fine details. The target is to have our sponsor and donors in place by December 1 so we can get all creative approved and launch on January 5, 2009. We’re still on target to get this done.

Productive day

It’s been a somewhat productive day today. I spoke with Jason at Alberta Cancer Foundation about the event again and he gave me some great ideas surrounding promotion of Tight ‘n Bright, so a huge kudos to him. I’ve also spoken with a supplier about providing an amazing package to raffle off and he has confirmed with me that he should have an answer for me towards the beginning of next week so watch for news of that as well.

It’s no secret that our preferred radio sponsor is Energy 101.5–it makes sense since it’s their live to air event the same night as Tight ‘n Bright. They have a promotion running right now that wraps up tomorrow so hopefully we’ll have an opportunity to chat with them next week and get them on board. Also, be sure to write your story. Have a great day!

Story tellers wanted

I’m proud to announce that yesterday we launched a new feature on our site called Stories. The hope is that many people will share their personal experiences with cancer and how it has impacted their life. There’s no doubt it has affected many of you reading this in one way or another so simply take a little bit of time to write about it. Contributors to other similar concepts have said that it has been extremely therapeutic to release the information and experience to the world.

I would like to personally thank each and every contributor in advance to reading their story and sharing it with the world. Thank you.

Celebrity Perez-ence?!

Last night I had a dream. I’m not sure what it was about, but I know I had one. It also has nothing to relate to this post so I’ll just end that thought there! I’m sure that anyone who ever reads anything on celebrity gossip has frequented PerezHilton.com for their daily feast of trash. Well, behind the scenes there is a guy known as Perez Hilton. It’s not his real name but that’s up to you to figure out and dispute if you really want. I decided to email him at perez@perezhilton.com and offer him an unofficial invite to Tight ‘n Bright on March 21. It was earlier this morning and there hasn’t been a reply. Do I expect to receive one? You bet I do! Do I expect him to come party? Well, he is a busy guy you know so who knows. The party would definitely be perfect for him flailing about in his Tight ‘n Bright clothing no doubt. I guess only time will tell but you can be sure that once Mr. Perez Hilton (wow that sounds formal) says “yes, I’m there” that we will let you know!

Until then, feel free to email him at perez@perezhilton.com and tell him that you want to see him at Tight ‘n Bright!
