Final numbers

We feel that it’s very important to you, to know how we did with reaching our goal of $20,000. Well, we didn’t make it to the goal. That’s OK though because we still managed to donate more to Tom Baker Cancer Centre then we could have done alone. It was with the generosity of people like you that we managed to raise $2,550.74 dollars through VIP admission, “Winning Tickets” and photo donations.

Thank you so much and we look forward to doing it again next year and surpassing our goal.

Marshall Stevenson
Event Organizer, Tight ‘n Bright 2009

And the winners are…

Thanks to random.org we generated 3 “Winning Ticket” numbers within the range of all tickets sold. There were 1085 ticket numbers purchased so odds of winning were pretty good. We plugged in the range, and here’s the numbers we got back as winners:

Grand Prize: Air + 3 nights in Las Vegas from WestJet Vacations
Ticket: 9000829
The owner of this winning ticket is Andy Finn.

Second Prize: Shopaholic prize pack
Ticket: 9000068
The owner of this winning ticket is Mieke Fox

Third Prize: Healthy You prize pack
Ticket: 9000954
The owner of this winning ticket is Dwayne Robertson

Thanks again to everyone that purchased tickets in support of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. We hope to do it again with you next year.

Oh what a night

Last night was truly an eye-opening experience. I had the chance to chat with a large number of survivors and also meet a lot of people. I want to thank each and every single one of you that donated in some way shape or form. Without our sponsors – Energy 101.5, The Whiskey, NewAd Media, Avenue Magazine, Process Color, WestJet Vacations, Slip-offs Custom Shoes, Rewind Consignment, Brazilian Shoebox, Chinook Centre, Extreme Pita and Survivor Bootcamp – none of the evening would have been possible.

I’d like to also thank you, specifically you, for following the website and blog updates. For showing up at the event. For thinking about the event that you weren’t able to attend. For just being you. Thank you for your contribution.

Of course there were many people at the event that were instrumental in helping sell raffle tickets like Monica & Afra and Dean & Jason to name just a few. And then our photographers as well. Alan Chong Photography and Toby Solak of S2 Photo took a number of great shots that many people took away with them. Thanks to both of you for working through the evening with me and upselling donations. And speaking of photos, I’ll be posting some online so that you can have a look to see what you missed out on…don’t worry though, we’re already thinking about doing it again next year.

Now, raffle prizes are the questions on EVERYONES mind today. Who won? Did I win? Well, hang in there as we’ve entered almost all the tickets into the system. BUT WAIT…there’s still time for you to purchase tickets to be entered to win. The deadline for entries is tonight at 23:59MT. The draw will take place and we’ll be contacting the prize winners tomorrow and posting the information online, along with the total we raised for the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.

Now though, I’m just rambling. A lack of sleep will do that to a person. So be sure to check back tomorrow to see if you won…or if you know someone that will be taking you to Vegas! Enjoy the snow in Calgary and again, a SUPER HUGE thanks to everyone that supported the inaugural Tight ‘n Bright for Cancer Research.

“Good morning” show

Well if you missed it at roughly 6:12 this morning I was on-air with Freeway Frank & Meg Tucker on the Energy 101.5 morning show to chat quickly about Tight ‘n Bright tomorrow night at The Whiskey. Can you believe already that it’s tomorrow night. It has definitely come up quickly and we’re still working out some last minute things. All I know is it will sure be a fun time and that all money raised will be put to a good cause. Get your tickets while you can.

We’ve also learned that after their game, there will be some Calgary Roughneck players coming to party…they’ll be the guys dressed up in suits. Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow night!

Have a listen to the on-air interview below…

Hear me gab…again

Well if it wasn’t enough for you to hear me on Energy 101.5 with Zack on Tuesday, wait until tomorrow morning when I’m on-air with Meg & Freeway on the morning show. It should be fun; no doubt intertwined between Twilight readings no doubt. So tune in sometime after 6:00 am to further show your support of Tight ‘n Bright and be sure to get your tickets!

52 seconds of fame

Well on Tuesday I had the wonderful opportunity to be on air with Zack at Energy 101.5 to talk about Tight ‘n Bright this Saturday. We chatted a lot, but of course there’s not a lot of time to chat on-air so I got 52 seconds of fame…in two different spots. Have a listen.

New spots & on-air

Well today is the day that I’ll be on air with Zack at Energy 101.5 FM. It should be around 3:30 so tune in or stream it from www.energy1015.com to hear what I have to say (of which I have no clue what I’m going to say). Also we’ve got a revised radio spot that should be running today until Friday evening. I’ve included it below for you to listen to. Let us know when you hear it!

We’re hitting the air waves

Listen to Energy 101.5 FM on Tuesday, March 17 (yes it’s St. Patty’s day too) at 3:30 PM Mountain Time while I do an on-air interview. I’ll be chatting with Zack and talking about the event which is just under two weeks away at The Whiskey. I’m not so sure what we’ll necessarily be chatting about so if you have specific questions, let us know (just use the comments section below). So be sure to tune in and of course, GET YOUR TICKETS!

Signs, signs, everywhere are signs…

Out on Sunday stapling posters along 1 Street SW.

Out on Sunday stapling posters along 1 Street SW.

Thanks to the great weather we had on the weekend we managed to put up some posters for Tight ‘n Bright along 10th Avenue in Calgary. We targeted this area first since it’s around the Whiskey, our host venue. Throughout this week and the upcoming weeks to the event we’ll be targeting them closer to C-Train stations, transit stops and even inside restaurants and bars thanks to NEWAD. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the posters and of course remember to GET YOUR TICKETS!

We’d also like to thank the students of SAIT’s Digital Graphics and Communications program for their help in getting our posters printed.

Tight ‘n Bright hits the street…err Avenue

We have one in the March issue too but styled slightly differently. Be sure to pickup a copy of Avenue Magazine for additional savings and of course great reading. And of course with just over a month left, GET YOUR TICKETS!
